Frequently Asked Questions

  • You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Therapy can help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and coping strategies while providing support during difficult times.

  • Your first session focuses on getting to know you, discussing what brings you to counselling, reviewing confidentiality and consent, and exploring your goals. You are never required to share anything before you're ready.

  • Finding the right counsellor matters! Research consistently shows that one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between the client and counsellor. Feeling understood, respected, and connected with your therapist can have a significant impact on the effectiveness of counselling (Flückiger et al. 2018).

Because of this, I offer a free consultation for you to get a chance to understand my style and ask me any questions before commiting to a first session.

Because of this, I have reserved a few sliding scale spots that are available on a first-come-first-served basis for those facing current financial difficulty. Please contact me for more information.

  • As many as you want! There is no set number of sessions. Some clients find a few sessions helpful for a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term support. Together, you and your counsellor will regularly review your goals and progress.
